This is guitar has a surrounding mystery to it, because of it's serial number. Despite the 0001 serial number, it is not the first of it's kind ever made. It was acquired by Gilmour in the seventies from his guitar tech Phil Taylor, who got it supposedly from Seymour Duncan. It has a maple neck, a white body, and gold-plated tuners, bridge, all hardware, including the pickguard. This guitar is one of his prized ones, so he keeps it off tours. However, he played it on the Fender 50th-anniversary concert in 2004.
-As with "The Black Strat" this guitar was also sold as part of the charity auction and briefly held the world record price for a strat ($1.82 million) before the Black Strat came up for auction and smashed all previous records.

#### The Red Stratocaster
Apart from the Black Stratocaster, the Floyd guitarist is closely associated with the Red Stratocaster. This guitar was David's main guitar during the post-Roger Waters era of Pink Floyd in the eighties and the nineties. It is a '57 reissue 1984 Fender Strat that was bought at London's Warehouse around his About Face tour. It has an apple candy red finish on an alder body, a C-shaped maple neck and was originally packed with vintage Fender stock pickups, but David replaced them with active EMG's, which was one of the first sets to be made by this company back in 1979. These pickups are now known as the DG20s. It also features a 4.25-inch tremolo arm with a synchronized bridge.
